Typical courses for each year of middle school

The example below shows a typical path through middle school. Individual schedules may differ, depending on needs and interests. For example, motivated middle school learners can advance in math placement based on assessments and coursework. CCC/L2L stands for our Community Citizenship/Learning to Learn class taken by all middle schoolers.

The Nea middle school curriculum is based on California Common Core Standards and has been reviewed and approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
