About Nea
The Nea Community Learning Center (Nea) is a tuition-free public charter school providing an innovative, project-based educational program for children and youth from Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Our Program
Our comprehensive TK-12 program provides engaging projects, academic challenges, access to art and music, interesting electives, and unique opportunities for leadership and social-emotional growth for students at every stage of development, from kindergarten through the tweens and teens.
Our Team
Our experienced administrators, fully certified teachers and counselors, and friendly support staff are dedicated to supporting each child's unique path to self-discovery and academic success.

School Performance

The California Department of Education provides a School Profile Page for Nea that links to many sources of information about school performance. Three main sources of information are the California School Dashboard, the CAASPP website for California school testing, and the School Accountability Report Card. You can learn more about Nea's performance on each of the tabs below.

The report card provides parents with important information about each school, including:

Demographic and academic data

Fiscal and expenditure data

Class sizes and teacher/staff information

School safety and climate information

Curriculum and instruction descriptions

School completion rates

Postsecondary preparation information

CAASPP Testing

Nea administers the following California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests annually:

Grades 3-8 and Grade 11: Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts/literacy

Grades 3-8 and Grade 11: Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for mathematics

Grades 5, 8, and 11: California Science Test (CAST) (first administered in 2020)
