PTSA Executive Board

The President:

• presides at meetings and prepares the agenda,
• appoints the Parliamentarian,
• appoints committee chairs and is a member of all committees,
• submits necessary paperwork to the district PTA,
• signs all authorizations for payments,
• represents the PTSA at the Alameda PTA Council or appoints someone to attend, and
• assembles records of PTA activities.

The Vice President:

• serves as chair person of parental involvement,
• serves as an aide to the President, and
• performs all of the President's duties if the President is absent.

The Vice President of Fundraising 

• Develops and implements fundraising plans for the PTSA
• Solicits grants for class field trips

The Secretary:

• keeps an accurate and concise record of all PTSA meetings,
• assists with the agenda if needed,
• prepares and reads the report of the Executive Board meetings,
• signs all authorizations for payment (along with the President), and
• publishes PTSA meeting agendas and summaries.

The Treasurer:

• helps develop a carefully considered budget as a financial guide for the year,
• handles and keeps an accurate detailed account of all monies received and dispersed,
• submits a written report at PTA meetings, and
• prepares an annual financial report.

The Financial Secretary:

• assists the Treasurer in the tracking and depositing of all monies received and dispersed, and
• assists the Treasurer in the creation of reports.

The Historian:

• records volunteer hours, and
• keeps a record of PTSA activities.

The Parliamentarian:

• reviews and studies the PTSA bylaws and standing rules annually,
• provides training, when necessary, on procedures such as how to state a motion, quorums, etc.,
• advises on questions of parliamentary procedure, and
• assists the presiding officer by keeping order at meetings.
